October 21, 2006 – Performs alongside Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian on Telethon Far before his vocal abilities were selling out concert venues and scoring him late night appearances, Sivan appeared on the popular annual Australian fundraising program, the Channel Seven Perth Telethon. June 1, 2007 – Releases studio debut, Dare to Dream (EP) With just 5 cover songs recorded at the age of 12, Dare to Dream gave a very narrow glimpse into what the singer’s musical career had in store for him. May 1, 2009 – Snags role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine Playing the part of a young James Logan (Wolverine), this role furthered his proximity to popular media stardom and springboarded Sivan’s entertainment industry ambitions, with his career as a YouTube personality soon taking off. June 5, 2013 – Signed to Universal Music Australia (UMA) record label Keeping the record deal a secret from fans for almost a year before publicly sharing the news, Sivan began his return to music, quietly working on writing songs and recording tracks for his upcoming project. August 7, 2013 – Uploads “Coming Out” video to YouTube In what would be one of the most defining moments in his media career, Sivan came out publicly as gay in a video uploaded to nearly one million subscribers on YouTube, which has since gained almost eight million views. September 3, 2015 – Drops first installment of Blue Neighborhood music video trilogy The release of Sivan’s “WILD” music video initiated the series of clips titled Blue Neighborhood that additionally included those for “FOOLS” and “TALK ME DOWN.” The series trilogy depicts the struggle with young queer love in suburbia and earned Sivan a MTV Video Music Awards nomination for Breakthrough Long Form Video in 2016. September 4, 2015 – Releases Wild (EP) Like TRXYE, Wild hit No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Later, it was revealed to be an introduction to the artist’s first full-length album, Blue Neighborhood. October 13, 2015 – Embarks on Troye Sivan Live tour Promoting the EP, Sivan set out on his first U.S. tour, which was later extended into a world tour with the successful release of Blue Neighborhood later that year. December 4, 2015 – Releases Blue Neighborhood The singer’s debut LP hit No. 7 on the Billboard 200, supported by the release of promotional remix of “WILD” featuring Alessia Cara and his first performance at the Billboard Music Awards the following year.
